Huge, gut wrenching disappointment at not qualifying.

Jump into wur time-tardis and travel back to when this group was drawn and
look at the above statement.

EH? I would have taken 1 point from this group at the start. At the end we
failed by a deflection and the width of a crossbar.

Anyway, we are where we are. Where are we?

1. Cousin must go
2. Weir has been ace for two decades. Davie, you've been a superstar since
you arrived - but it's time to go. You can read the game as well as ever,
but by the time you've read it, the top class striker is past you.
3. Papac is a great squad player and must stay - but not at left back.
4. Cuellar needs a good kick in the balls since he effectively cost us the
game. Then get him back for the next three years - the guy's a star.
5. Midfield is lacking a creative force for Ferguson to feed/work with.
6. Boyd will probably be in England in January. If your manager can't trust
your top goalscorer for the most important game of the season you know
something is wrong.
7. Hutton is now worth £10m in English terms.
8. Thompson is getting pass marks in every game. We expect more.
9. Naismith is the future. Give him a guaranteed 3 month run alongside Boyd.
10. Whittacker can be a superstar - give him trust and time.

next season's team

McGregor

Hutton Webster Cuellar Smith

Whittacker Thompson

Ferguson Mculloch

Naismith Boyd

At the start of the season we were talking in terms of giving celtic a
'challenge' and the CL was a pipe dream. We've just failed to qualify from
the toughest possible CL group on the final night and we'll be ahead of
Celtic if we win our games against Gretna and StMirren.

We would all have taken that in September. We're gutted at tonight, but
we're still way ahead of schedule.

What game were you watching? Papac was one of our best players last night,
and better than Weir, Cueller and Hutton as well. Thomson we need more from,
Whittaker played well (apart from almost selling a goal), Ferguson was
better than most, Hemdani done his usual, Cousin obviously wasn't that good
last night, and McCulloch battled hard.

As for next year's team, we must get Chris Burke back in there. One of our
best players is rotting away in the reserves. I would also love to see Kris
Boyd feature regularly, the man is a goal machine and goals win games. He
must be gutted to always miss out on big Scotland and Rangers games, yet
when we play smaller teams he will be back in there. He has hardly kicked a
ball in this CL campaign.

It's become the norm among many fans to slag Papac. While his abilities are
limited, and he's not even a left back, he has been pretty steady all
season.

Thought they were all poor last night, including Ferguson. Even the
normally reliable Hemdami was out of sorts.

Whoa, Papac was mince and that was before the Lyon player nobbled him, he
constantly goes inside leaving our left flank exposed, leaving McCulloch
travelling further back to cover for him, this is not a slag Papac off for
no reason post.

Hemdani was utter gash last night, his ball retention and passing was well
out of sorts, but should be expected since he is short of match practice,
our problem in midfield is Ferguson thinks he is the only midfield player
worthy of having the ball.

So many more deficiencies last night, but cannot be arsed typing them all
out as I don't want to be here for hours.

tonight Very impressed with the way we played tonight, we totally dominated Hearts, I cant recall them having one semi decent pop at goal all night. Our midfield looked superb, Dailly is a revelation in the defensive midfielder role, he seems to give the team a l

Only 4 tonight ? pmfsl. :)

Tonight Ok chaps, what do you lot reckon. I just have this feeling that we'll get done by these guys - especially if Makelele carries on his recent form. Must score early to give us that slight cushion. I'm going for a 2-0 win for the Blues. Thoughts? Cheers Tobe
