Went to the City match - I thought that Boa Morte really tried his heart
out. Ferdinand was almost back to being in the right place every time he was
needed and McCartney was pretty solid too. Faubert, whilst he was closely
marked, was able to control the ball and turn away from the defender no
matter which way he was facing when the ball came to him. I'd have liked to
see Ljungberg moving when he didn't have the ball, though he did make a
couple of tackles, which was good to see. But the abiding impression was the
stadium. I didn't take to the idea of leaving Upton Park for some soulless
mega stadium but, after seeing the Man City ground, let's get our name down
for the Olympic Stadium now.

The other memorable aspect of the night was the great time we had with the
City fans in the Mitchells Pub before the game. Good lads one and all.

Biggest disappointment wasn't dropping out of the cup, it was the missed
chance to go to Sheffield United to rub their noses in it.
