No wonder the english national team is so shite, not one englishman in
the
top 10. Robbie Keane flys the flag for the Irish, but the rest are
from across the pond.

So I don't think the influx of foreign players is really good for the
english game,
even Barnsley had about 4 brazilians playing.

Pos Player Team Goals
1 Cristiano Ronaldo Man Utd 21
2 Emmanuel Adebayor Arsenal 19
3 Fernando Torres Liverpool 15
4 Benjani Mwaruwari Man City 13
5 Robbie Keane Tottenham 12
6 Nicolas Anelka Chelsea 11
Roque Santa Cruz Blackburn 11
Carlos Tevez Man Utd 11
9 Dimitar Berbatov Tottenham 10
10 John Alieu Carew Aston Villa 9
Ayegbeni Yakubu Everton 9

12 Dave Kitson Reading 8
Steven Gerrard Liverpool 8
Wayne Rooney Man Utd 8 (highest placed
english striker)

Cheers

Don't agree.

The 1966-70 team was really terrific. Great players such as Charlton,
Moore and so on. And England have had other good teams.

Current team is not great. Too much control by managers I imagine.
England currently have three or four really good players. Rooney is
superb. Gerrard not bad. Terry is excellent.

But for years England persisted with players who were not really
international class. Emil Heskey for one.
