Same goalie and back four. I'd go with Ronaldo, Carrick, Anderson and Nani
midfield, and Wayne and Tevez up front. We need to terrorise Newcastle,
still smarting after the 6-0. An early goal would do nicely.
Last night felt a bit like the end of an era for Scholes and Giggs. Last
season I would have been terrified seeing them both go off but yesterday it
seemed like the future had arrived with Nani and Tevez coming on. And 4-4-2
always looked way more threatening.
Scholes and Giggs still have a massive role to play, this season and next.
And it could be that Scholes is still rusty after his lay-off and may hit
top form again, I certainly hope so. And Giggs on form is still one of the
prem's top players. But he's been rusty lately and isn't an automatic choice
anymore.
Strongest squad we've ever had at United. I think the longest era of
domination in the history of football is set to continue for a good while
yet.

Agree. Then if we have a comfortable lead it's Fletcher on for Ronaldo, Saha
for Rooney and O'Shea for Evra.

It was the only sensible substitution. In the last 30 minutes it was one way
traffic. Scholes and Giggs are still massive players with immense experience
and ball control, but they have lost some pace and are sometimes slowing the
game down. That is very useful in some games or at some stages in games, but
when you are chasing an equalizer it's better to get the fast paced players
on the pitch. If we need to hold on to a 3-2 lead against Inter in Moscow,
Scholes and Giggs might come in handy.

It's good to see our squad is so good that there really aren't any automatic
choices except the back 4. The diversity in midfield gives us a lot of
tactical possibilities. Anderson, Scholes, Hargreaves and Carrick...oh yeah.
Mouth watering.

Indeed. I'm expecting Anderson to become one fo our best players ever. Just
imagine these lads sticking together for 8-9 seasons. Nani, Ronaldo, Rooney,
Tevez, Anderson, Pique, Evans, Simpson, Foster, Possebon and others...Mouth

Actually, I wouldn't be at all surprised if he went for Fletcher instead of
Anderson from the start. Fletch had a great game against arse and Anderson
might be rested. Great dilemma for SAF to have.

Anderson at 19 in his first dozen or so games in England has already
dominated Gerrard at Anfield and the arse midfield twice. Got to be one of
the most exciting prospects in the game.

Yes especially considering he is an overrated and overpriced panic buy. |
