I think it is completely unacceptable for Stuart Pearce to blame the press
for drawing negative pressure to managers in the premiership. He, like all
other premiership managers make the money most of us only dream of. They're
involved in a sport that most of us don't have the natuaral abiltity to do
well. They do, and it is recognised not only by the money they make but by
the fans that cheer with them or complain agaist them. Football is so much
like the weather in the UK - it is traditional to complain about under
performing teams - it is part of the culture. Those of us that work will
recognise that we are only as good as the job we do and our continued
employment depends on that ability to perform at expected standards. Those
of us that reach management positions will also know only too well how we
are also gauged on the people who work for us. We are held accountable for
peoples inability to produce the effort required to make the endeavor a
successful operation. The trade off for Stuart Pearce is he is a public
figure in a job that is so passionate for so many people - if he finds the
nature of the business so deplorable - try seeling double glazing or
actually coming home smelling of a hard days work. I had so much time for
Stuart Pearce before this - I now think he is an ungrateful wannabe. So
many people would be so grateful to have his opportunity even if just to
find out they are not good at it. But him looking for excuses to blame
people because he seems to either question his own ability to succeed or
doesn't have the abilty to succeed. Good luck Manchester City. You have a
manager not prepared to accept responsibility.
