Clarence Seedorf has admitted that Milan were lucky to escape with a
goalless draw in their UEFA Champions tie with Arsenal on Wednesday
night.

The Gunners dominated for large portions of the game at the Emirates
and were guilty of spurning numerous gilt-edged chances, no-one more so
than Emmanuel Adebayor who headed against the bar in the very last
minute when presented with a gaping goal.

However, the current holders escaped unscathed and will be confident of
getting the job done in front of their own supporters in the second leg
in two weeks time.

Their Dutch midfielder Seedorf concedes as much, agreeing that while
the Serie A giants were well off the pace in London he expects them to
be far more ruthless next time out.

Good result

"We didn't have the whole squad at 100 per cent," he said.

"A lot of our players have problems, me included. Three or four players
were badly injured.

"That's not an excuse, but we know we can do something more in the home
game.

"It's a very good result for us. They probably deserved something more
looking at the chances they had. We were lucky to get away with it.

"We are confident there is going to be another massive result from our
part though."

"If you take the example of Manchester United, they would be in
mid-table now if officials had the benefit of video replays."

Arsene Wenger 2004-05 season.

Poor effort....and lucky Nice to see a side with a bit of confidence but it takes more than that to win the Prem. Looked like the Arsenal players have started to believe their own publicity? Spurs had the middle without really trying too hard in the first 45. Swagger and conceit,

A bit lucky Well, I'm not complaining but we were poor in that first half. I don't know what the hell Phil Neville is supposed to be doing but the trouble is it looks like he doesn't know either. I thought the idea of playing him in midfield was to give an extra bit

Very lucky b... Good game last night, eh? Whilst I suspect many of you lot may feel differently, I'm filthy on the Phil Dowd for destroying the game as a balanced contest, and depriving us of our chance to relieve you of that three year unbeaten home run. No great surpri

we were lucky no two ways about it That fat bastard's living on borrowed time an I want My clock back NOW!!!!

Lucky, Lucky, Lucky... By all accounts Hartlepool played us off the pitch. Don't get me wrong I'm pleased with the points and I've taken into account the injuries. But being pragmatic and considering the past - I can't help wondering how long it will I'm not try
