Clarence Seedorf has admitted that Milan were lucky to escape with a
goalless draw in their UEFA Champions tie with Arsenal on Wednesday
night.

The Gunners dominated for large portions of the game at the Emirates
and were guilty of spurning numerous gilt-edged chances, no-one more so
than Emmanuel Adebayor who headed against the bar in the very last
minute when presented with a gaping goal.

However, the current holders escaped unscathed and will be confident of
getting the job done in front of their own supporters in the second leg
in two weeks time.

Their Dutch midfielder Seedorf concedes as much, agreeing that while
the Serie A giants were well off the pace in London he expects them to
be far more ruthless next time out.

Good result

"We didn't have the whole squad at 100 per cent," he said.

"A lot of our players have problems, me included. Three or four players
were badly injured.

"That's not an excuse, but we know we can do something more in the home
game.

"It's a very good result for us. They probably deserved something more
looking at the chances they had. We were lucky to get away with it.

"We are confident there is going to be another massive result from our
part though."
