I thought we didn't play too badly last night. Yes it was frustrating, but
we seemed to have more shots on goal last night than in about 3 of our
average games. Benjani looked like he really could do a job holding the
ball up. Would be nice if Sven played someone up there to then take it off
him or, as someone else has pointed out, the midfield got forward to support
him.

I was actually planning to stay till the end to clap them off but I left
when I heard the ref do a double whistle. I thought the game was over, but
apparently he was just excited about playing with his little red card.

Incidentally, I thought he had generally a very good game. Though I reckon
he probably missed at least one penalty.

Ho hum. Here's to the summer when Thaksin's going to get a message from the
gods that he should spend half his fortune on City and we get Messi, Kaka,
Henry etc.

We started off ok but it looked like we were taking time to get up to
the pace that Everton were at. The break without a game has had a
detrimental effect. Then they scored twice due to poor defending,
especially the second goal where Dunne was stood watching and they had
something to hold on to and packed their defence.
Oh well, Wigan on Saturday and then Sven's got to find an alternative to
Petrov while he takes another break.

Too much blue tint on those goggles? I thought we played really well for the
first 30 minutes and then it just went downhill. Whenever anything was on,
there were hardly any players forward to take advantage. This was in stark
contrast to the derby, when half the team seemed to race forward as each
opportunity arose. Same old story, they make an effort for the derby game,
then it's straight back into their lazy comfort zone. Not good enough and
very frustrating. The only good thing about last night was that we won't get
disappointed again this season, the European ambitions are over. How stupid
of us to have aspirations.

It's too soon to give up on a UEFA Cup place, we're only four points off
being in fifth or sixth and there are still thirty-three points to play
for.
Let's see if they redeem themselves in the next two games before writing
the season off.
