The following table shows the number of points a team would need to be on to
achieve the year end TARGETS of:
Champions with ..90pts
Promotion with ...86pts (upped from 84 last week)
Playoff (6th) with .72 pts

IT DOES NOT assume teams will keep up their CURRENT average points as it is
a table that shows where tams should be NOW to achieve the above targets. I
will occasionally adjust the year end targets depending on how close the
teams are and if any one team pulls clear. The Promotion target has been
upped to 86 from 84 to take account that most the top teams keep winning.

Games Played....20...21...22
...........pts...pts...pts
CHAMPIONS.......39...41...43
PROMOTION.......37...39...41
PLAYOFF ..........31...33...34

So LEEDS on 22 games (as we now stand)
...................Need....Have.......IN HAND
CHAMPIONS..... 43pts....37pts..... 6 pts DOWN
PROMOTION......41pts....37pts..... 4 pts DOWN
PLAYOFF .........34pts....37pts..... 3 pt IN HAND

Table below shows the top six teams and how they stand against the targets
of being CHAMPS, PROMOTION and PLAYOFF. Also shown and closing in after some
good results are the other 5 teams.
A MINUS figure shows many points the team is DOWN on the target and a PLUS
shows how many points they have IN HAND.

........Games.....PTS..CHAMPS..PROM..PLAYOFF
SWANSEA.. 20.......40..... +1 .....+3.....+9
CARLISLE..20........36....-3.......-1......+5
NOTTS FOR..21.......38.....-3.......-1 .....+5
LEEDS UTD..22.......37....-6.......-4......+3
LEYTON OR..22......35......-8......-6......+1
DONCASTER..22......34....-9.....-7.....=

AND on the fringe looking to a play off position
WALSALL....22.......33.....-10.......-8.....-1
SOUTHEND..22.......33.....-10......-8....-1
YEOVIL......22.......32.....-11......-9.....-2
BRIGHTON...21.......30.....-11......-9.....-3
TRANMERE...22...31.....-12....-10......-3
