I'm not sure but I think Fat Sam survived for less time in the Toon hot seat
than Roeder.

On the same day Paul Jewell signs Robbie Savage for Derby, so that's three
careers over in one day!

Ain't mid table obscurity and stability wonderful? Smile

Best enjoy it while we can.

Newcastle's table position and Cup situations are remarkably similar to
ours! It's a question of expectations, I think - Newcastle fans and owners
believe they should be in a CL position, anything less being seen as
failure, whereas West Ham fans are more 'realistic', after recent seasons,
and view mid table as acceptable.

Whether Bjorgolffur (?sp) will be equally understanding remains to be seen.

The papers have Harry Redknapp as favourite to take over at Newcastle. Can't
see him turning it down, if offered. After all, it is rumoured Fat Sam
trousered £6 million for his six months' stint - nice work if you can get it
Smile

They've both got good sense, and they don't need the money?

The Newcastle job is a poisoned chalice. Shearer is too smart to take it
now, he'll let the next mug (or two) come in and fail (and mark my words,
they will) while he is doing his coaching badges and supplementing his
pension working on MotD. He may not be the most charismtic person alive but
I don't think he's a mug.
