If you think that was bad take a look at this severed artery in the
neck of ice hockey player Richard Zednik for the Florida Panthers two
weeks ago - blood everywhere...

"I remember exactly what happened and I knew exactly what I had to do.
I was on the ice and I knew it was pretty bad ... I knew I had to get
up and get to the bench as soon as possible. Then when I was there it
was like, well, it’s up to [the trainers] now," said Zednik during a
media conference Thursday in Sunrise, Fla.

The 32-year-old spoke for the first time since the frightening
incident on Feb. 10 when the Panthers were playing in Buffalo against
the Sabres.

During the third period of the game at the HSBC Arena, teammate Olli
Jokinen was upended by Buffalo defenceman Brian Campbell. As Zednik
skated past, Jokinen’s skate sliced into his neck and severed Zednik’s
right carotid artery.

Zednik lost five pints of blood, but never lost consciousness. Doctors
say, because of quick treatment, Zednik’s life was never in danger.

There was one even worse than that.

As ghastly as Eduardo's (or even Alan Smith's) was to see, this was
horrible beyond anything imaginable.

WARNING: Those with a weak stomach shouldn't see it.

Get well soon Eduardo. No one wants to see that sort of injury, no matter who you play for. I hope he gets a decent prognosis and makes a speedy return. Good luck chief. GW

Eduardo The guy just can't stop scoring. Croatia win 1-0 and it's Eduardo again. I hope he can start doing that for us, although with Adebayor not going to the ANC he has more time to bed in than expected.

Eduardo pic... Not for the weak stomached, etc. ~LR

Eduardo Horrible injury, here's wishing him a fast recovery! RED DEVIL

Eduardo ect. When I saw him get injured it put everything into perspective, all the bitching and bickering and partisan nonsense, who wins or loses, seems irelivent. Sure i thought momentarily that it might benefit us in the title race, but I'd rather have watched Ars
