Agreed.

Earliest memory of being a Sunderland fan was when he was in charge in 1979.

Couldn't get away with that film they made about him, mind!!

I remember him from when I was a 12 year old, Billy Bingham on the right,
Billy Elliot on the left, Ford, Shack, those were the days. Paying a penny
for the tram ride from where I lived in North Bridge St to Roker Park.

Was listenin to radio Scum tonight. Apparently he was caretaker after Alan
Brown. Interviewed Bobby Kerr... No mention of the second caretaker
spell....... That will be after Ken Knighton? 1979...
