Aldershot Town Football Club Chairman John McGinty recently updated
supporters regarding the story revealed earlier this week by BBC
Southern Counties Radio regarding goalkeeper Nikki Bull...
It has been brought to my attention that BBC Southern Counties Radio
has announced that Nikki Bull has confirmed that he is to leave the
football club at the end of the season whatever the outcome of the
current playing season. From within the club this is old news for
myself and the management. Nikki was looking for a fresh challenge
during the recent summer period and this was common knowledge.
We were expecting Nikki to leave during this period but through a
variety of reasons he eventually remained at Aldershot Town for the
2007/08 season for whom he was contracted. Upon announcing that he was
to remain at the club Nikki did express his desire to further his
football career at the end of his current contract and we fully
understood that.
What is certain, however, is that Nikki Bull is 100% committed to
Aldershot Town Football Club for this season and that is proven by his
excellent peformance rate during the current campaign.
Indeed Nikki has been a truly wonderful clubman and servant for
Aldershot Town Football Club since he arrived in 2002 and that is a
main factor as to why he has such a tremendous rapport with the
supporters.
When Nikki Bull does leave Aldershot Town Football Club he will go
with our blessing and we will assist him in whatever way we can. I
hope that he is able to depart on the back of a successful season for
the club.
I am sure you will all continue to get behind Nikki and the squad as
you have done superbly so far this season.
I can also confirm that I have received an apology from Tim Durrans at
BBC Southern Counties Radio for the way this information was relaid
and the timing of it too. I have also asked Tim to apologise to our
manager Gary Waddock too which he has done.
I am happy to clarify this matter to you, the supporters, and am also
pleased to inform you that Gary Waddock has been awarded the Blue
Square Premier Manager of the Month for September. This is a well
deserved honour and I am sure that we are all pleased for Gary, his
management team and squad of players.
